That’s it when it comes to technical issues. AOC U32U1 is equipped with HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB-C (DP Alt Mode) and DisplayPort 1.4, an additional USB HUB (USB 3.0 USB micro B data transfer, USB 3.2 Gen1 download + fast charge, USB 3.2 Gen1 data download). In addition, a brightness of 600 nits, a static contrast of 1300: 1, wide viewing angles of 178/17 °, thin bezels, adjustable height, rotation, tilt, built-in speakers and headphone output. A wide range of colors including 100% Adobe RGB color space and 98% DCI-P3 color space is to be an incentive for people involved in photo and video processing. The equipment has HDR certified Vesa Certified DisplayHDR 600. resolution 3840 x 2160 pixels with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a response time of 5 ms. This is where applications will come in handy that will help you to more conveniently manage more applications placed on the screen: Magnet, BetterTouchTool, BetterSnapTool and built-in tools allowing for use an app in Split View on a Mac.įrom the technical side, the AOC U32U1 is a 31.5-inch monitor with an IPS screen with WLED backlight. However, it is more convenient to arrange the work screen (Desks), where several application windows are visible on the screen. However, I advise against working with full-screen applications in full resolution. However, if you have wider (deeper) desks, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem. A monitor that adds character to any workplace The default resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels was too high for me and the first step in adjusting it to my needs was to set the scaling to allow me to set the resolution of 3008 x 1692, which was optimal for me – mainly because the monitor was standing quite far from the wall and was too close my eyes. The monitor is automatically detected and can be used in screen mirroring mode or as an additional screen for working on two (or more) displays. I connected the AOC U32U1 to the MacBook Pro 13-inch from 2020 without major problems, with one USB-C cable, which will save space on the desk – the cable connecting both devices also provides electricity to the MacBook, which eliminates the need to occupy two USB-C ports in computer. The designers’ idea is quite obvious – less is more. The design of the tripod supporting the monitor allows you to change the height by 120 mm – which will be useful when rotating it to a vertical position. This equipment is a large screen, narrow bezels, a metal tripod and an aluminum plate with all connectors that remains motionless when you turn the monitor. And I must admit that I am positively surprised, although I already know that in my case 31.2 inches is too much. That is why I was pleased to take the AOC U32U1 for testing – mainly to check whether a large monitor with such a huge resolution is suitable for me and will work in everyday conditions. Recently, I wanted to improve my workplace a bit and decided to try an additional display. Since switching to a laptop, I thought that one screen was enough for me. My last monitor is in the old days when I was still working on a desktop computer – and that was a long time ago.
